Summary Description
The Student Center at Bowie State University is a new 3-story 95,000 gsf building that is dedicated to enhancing the student experience on campus. The building features a series of dynamic, student-centric functions including a bookstore, retail dining, residential dining, a 250-seat theater, game room, and numerous lounge spaces. A monumental stair links three levels of vibrant student functions, each having a strong sense of internal transparency and external views to the campus beyond. To support these various functions, office space is provided for the Career Center, Auxiliary Services, Student Union, as well as offices for student government and organizations. The building also houses a Conference Center to host various campus & regional events, including a Multipurpose Ballroom, Prefunction Lobby and state-of-the art meeting rooms. The project is the first LEED-certified building on BSU’s campus, achieving Gold-level certification.
